Service Leadership Programs

KEY CLUB

Kiwanis programs for youth help create the next generation of community leaders.

Key Club, the world’s oldest and largest service organization for high school students, encourages leadership development through service to others.

The Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma (KCCL) chartered their first Key Club in 1998 at Parkdale Collegiate Institute. This was only the beginning of our Service Leadership Program. Since then, two other Key Clubs have been chartered at Harbord Collegiate Institute, and York Memorial Collegiate Institute.

We dedicate funds to support initiatives in our Service Leadership Program: the Divisional Leadership Training Conference, Key Leader, Key Club District Conference and an expanding number of Key Club Scholarships.

The Key Club District Educational and Leadership Conference (DELC) is organized by the Division Lieutenant Governor for members from the 10 Key Clubs in the GTA. Sharing successes and tips for running meetings and fundraisers and volunteer activities help strengthen Key Clubs and motivate members to contribute to their school and community.

Key Leader is a weekend program at the Circle Square Ranch in Brantford, focussing on service leadership. Students learn that leadership comes with helping others succeed. Through discussions, group work and team-building activities, participants learn skills to improve their schools and community, have fun and make friends.

Every year, we subsidize Key Club members to attend the Eastern Canada District Key Club Convention. Students are offered the opportunity to expand their knowledge of Key Club, interact with others from across Eastern Canada, and experience another Canadian city.
