Citizenship Ceremony at Casa Loma

The Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma partners with Liberty Entertainment Group annually to host the Citizenship Ceremony in the Library at Casa Loma, Feb 19, 2020. This year, Judge Rodney Simmons administered the Oath of Citizenship and presented certificates to 64 new Canadians from 27 countries. The new Canadians and their guests enjoyed a special treat at the Reception in the Conservatory.

The Citizenship Court at Casa Loma was presided by Judge Rodney Simmons, IRCC Clerk Lorenza St. Martin,  with speakers: Nick Di Donato, CEO and President of Liberty Entertainment Group, Kirushna Raveenthirarasa, KIwanis Club of Casa Loma, and Andres Griffith, Constituency Assistant for M.P. Carolyn Bennett.

Nick Di Donato inspired Citizenship recipients with his family’s new Canadian experience as immigrants from Italy making the most of the opportunities in Canada.

Judge Rodney Simmons created a warm and friendly quality to the formal proceedings of the Citizenship Court and communicated to everyone the privilege of becoming a Canadian citizen. He and his RCMP assistants congratulate a new Canadian. One of the Mounties’ mother received her Canadian Citizenship at this ceremony!

Key Club volunteers from Harbord Collegiate and Parkdale Collegiate served as guides and recognized how wonderful it is to be Canadian!

The chef at Casa Loma created this delicious Canadian Flag cake for the Reception to celebrate the 64 new Canadians!
